Dwarf Language If you've got any requests just ask and I'll see what I can do. doubled_case : again only used on German, words are doubled to include upper and lowercase on every word which should mean that there's a roughly even chance of a word getting a upper case letter regardless of position in names standard_case : at time of writing, only used on German, preserves German casing on nouns but due to lack of lots of nouns isn't that great unusual_characters : non-English characters included That said, I've also included the files with non-English characters, and here's a key for all those: This means that any roots file without trailing words is the "standard" which consists of me replacing (preferably with a similar linguistic look / sound) any characters not in the usual alphabet for English. One of the things I've tried to do is keep the linguistic feeling of these languages whilst also stripping out anything that would be an impairment for your standard DF player without DFHack / TWBT. ![]() turkish_modern : generated from the 500 most commonly used modern Turkish words toki_pona : generated from the Hawaiian-esque conlang Toki Pona, which has 120 words spanish_modern : generated from the 500 most commonly used modern Spanish words sindarin : generated from a language dictionary of Tolkien's Sindarin, not accurate to the books but it is pretty elven stuff rlyehian : generated from Lovecraft's language of R'lyeh from the Cthulhu mythos portuguese_modern : generated from the 500 most commonly used modern Portuguese words pokemon : generated from Pokemon names, not perfect but pretty entertaining orcish_tolkien : generated from a Tolkien Orcish dictionary old_norse : generated from a 4+k Old Norse dictionary, it may have some English words accidentally left in but they just get drowned out in the Norseness navi : generated from the Navi dictionary from nahuatl : generated from a Nahuatl dictionary, it's a very good Mesoamerican sound khalani : generated from the Protoss language from the Starcraft universe ![]() japanese_edo : generated from family / male names from Japan's Edo period, very traditional and Japanese sounding german_modern : generated from the 500 most commonly used modern German words french_modern : generated from the 500 most commonly used modern French words english_modern : generated from the 3000 most commonly used modern English words demon_names : generated from Wikipedia's list of theological demons it is sort of Hebrew but with a lot of sounds that Hebrew doesn't really use bexadecimal: generated from binary and hexadecimal, perfect for robots arabic_quranic : generated from Arabic from the Quran ![]() american_names : generated from the 1000 most popular boy and girl names, it is bizarre ![]()
